October 11 @ 7:00 pm - 12:00 am
Join the passionate kavatenders, wordweavers and songstresses at United Kava for a bi-monthly open mic. Any and all are welcome to share their unique gift, whether it be music, poetry, comedy, performance art, reading the dictionary in an Elvish accent, or anything else that falls under the category of “misc.” Loosen up your tongue, let go of your inhibitions, and shatter societal boundaries on our experimental stage while sipping a soothing bowl of kava, a CBD concoction, or an enchanting herbal elixir.
Signup @ 8:30pm
Performances go from 9pm – midnight (or as late as our hands/vocal chords can still function)
Kava & trippin’ elixirs keep flowing until 2 am
~ This week will have a feature performer: I’m Not Holden Caulfield will rock the boat with their society-defying, box-destroying, bubble-bursting punk tunes.
~ Sella Malin will be back to host this week… Come by to tell her how much you did / did not miss her presence while she was off being a wood nymph / desert lizard in California.
United Kava is a pop-up kava bar that resides at Caffeine Underground every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday night from 8pm – 2am. It is a joint venture seeking to establish a practical model for equitable workers’ rights within the service industry. Here, workers can bargain over their wages, scheduling, and code of conduct. Patrons can know workers are operating free of fear and are empowered to address their workspace.
Kava has the power to bridge the divide between humans and bring people together. We are fostering an environment that is a sanctuary for workers and patrons alike.
